Who are we?
Formed in 2013, Marketing Intelligence (MINT) is a student-run club affiliated with the University of Melbourne Student Union (UMSU) and the University of Melbourne’s Faculty of Business and Economics. Put simply, we’re a tight-knit group of students that aims to bring practical, hands-on marketing opportunities and facilitate professional learning in a pragmatic way. MINT looks to provide enriching experiences to advance education and insight into the marketing profession, allowing students to thrive and prosper on networking opportunities, case workshops and our very own publications. We believe there’s still so much to explore in the world of marketing, and hope to bring that to the doorstep of the wider university community.
Moving forward, we hope to further establish ourselves through our newest initiative, our Projects teams, and with a greater variety of innovative and industry-focused events. This will give rise to those wanting first-hand marketing experience, with real Melbourne businesses, as well as more opportunities to form professional connections and learn more about what marketing has to offer. Our members have gone on to pursue incredible career opportunities from these experiences, and it’s nothing short of what makes us proudest as a club.
Why join MINT?
Throughout the past year, MINT has been able to move to the forefront of student-run clubs through our innovative initiatives and diverse collaborations. We’ve formed partnerships with cafes around Melbourne, pilates studios, mentors from L’Oreal, Spotify and Telstra and even renowned authors. We’ve conducted social events, most notably a Boat Cruise and EOX in collaboration with various other clubs. While on the other hand, we’ve run case workshops and panel discussions where students are provided the opportunity to network and connect with these industry professionals. In all of these events, our comMINTtee members have played major roles, whether it be the planning or execution, gaining valuable experiences and skills, essential for careers post-university.
Yet, as a club, MINT’s vision transcends professional advancement. We place significant priority on nurturing the personal and social development of each individual that comes across our club. In saying so, it’s the people who really make MINT whole. It’s these people who you’ll form lifelong relationships with, creating everlasting memories that you’ll look back on decades from now, wishing you could relive. From science degrees, to finance majors, our comMINTtee is no stranger to diversity but it’s our shared interests and passions for things beyond marketing that really make the university journey worthwhile.
